GREAT CHANGES THANKS TO WBT

I can't be more happy with WBT. 
Since we stared using WBT in our classes, kids have improved their oral skills a great deal, as well as the written skills. Classroom management has improved too and motivation is high.... kids just love coming to school and learning using WBT. It's a great method, not only for the kids but for me..... I've reached HEAVEN!!!!

 We have an oral exam with Trinity Examination and we work some important skills required for it such as:
- Answering some questions about a topic: house, family, school,..
- Following directions in a map.
- Describing a picture and talking about the things they see in it.

The last part is where I see the biggest improvement... kids have broaden their vocabulary so much that is unbelievable.... We have worked sentences using the Genius Ladder... and they don't also love it... but they enjoy adding new things to a simple sentence... They love the feeling of improvement as well... they can add more and more things as time passes... and I end up hearing some descriptions that I sometimes can't believe what I'm hearing!!!!

The best thing that I just found out is that ... they are putting all that information in writing!!! Can you imagine this??? I coudn't until I put a description on a test... and to my surprise I found that 2nd grade Spanish students can write things that I couldn't think of before using WBT!!!

 Can you believe something as good as this could happen in a 2nd grade class??? I couln't.

5 Step Lesson Plan

5 Step Lesson Plan is how WBT help us enjoy and reach heaven in every unit... but HOW?? Very Simple...

1st. We ask a question. What will be the unit about?

What's the Stone Age________________________ What's the Stone Age?

2nd. We answer using micro-lectures and gestures.

In the Stone Age people lived in caves---------------- TEACH- OK

In the Stone Age people hunted animals-------------- TEACH-OK

In the Stone Age people were nomads, they moved from one place to another place ---TEACH

3rd. We give examples using our magic hat "Popping Thinking"

They hunted animals, for example: tigers, mammoth, bears,.....

4th. Cutie. Check answers with a quick game. Heads down and thumbs up for True answers or thumbs down for False answers.

In the Stone Age people lived in houses. (F)
In the Stone Age people hunted animals  (T)
In the Stone Age people were nomads (T)
Nomads are people that lived always in the same house (F)

5th. Critical Thinking.

Kids make a picture about the Stone Age and using a sample sentence  ("In the Stone Age....") they write sentences about the Stone Age. Then they show it to the rest of the class and hang them around the class.

Thanks to all the the micro-lectures,  repetitions with TEACH-OK, the help of each other, the fun gestures, the comfortable feeling that things are cool when you make  a mistake.....Science turns out to be a fun subject and not only that... the restults are AMAZING!!!

This unit took place in October... and today, they still remember a lot of things about the Stone Age.

This other Unit about the Means of Communication took place in February... they are faster and they are used to work with WBT, and the results are even better!!!
