Since we stared using WBT in our classes, kids have improved their oral skills a great deal, as well as the written skills. Classroom management has improved too and motivation is high.... kids just love coming to school and learning using WBT. It's a great method, not only for the kids but for me..... I've reached HEAVEN!!!!
We have an oral exam with Trinity Examination and we work some important skills required for it such as:
- Answering some questions about a topic: house, family, school,..
- Following directions in a map.
- Describing a picture and talking about the things they see in it.
The last part is where I see the biggest improvement... kids have broaden their vocabulary so much that is unbelievable.... We have worked sentences using the Genius Ladder... and they don't also love it... but they enjoy adding new things to a simple sentence... They love the feeling of improvement as well... they can add more and more things as time passes... and I end up hearing some descriptions that I sometimes can't believe what I'm hearing!!!!
The best thing that I just found out is that ... they are putting all that information in writing!!! Can you imagine this??? I coudn't until I put a description on a test... and to my surprise I found that 2nd grade Spanish students can write things that I couldn't think of before using WBT!!!
